Hello! Welcome to my blog.

This one will be quick, but I wanted to share a little about myself and what motivates me.

I was raised on a farm in the Pacific Northwest where the summers are short and the nights are long. I remember looking into the night sky, mouth agape as I pondered stars beyond number. I knew, even as a child, there had to be other worlds out there. Space is infinite, and within the breadth of eternity rests fields of limitless possibility. Those thoughts have followed me into adulthood. My mother taught me to read, which opened doors to these worlds I had imagined. Books are my treasures. My house is packed with them. Then, after I completed years of formal training and found myself with a little extra time, I began to write. Writing has consumed my life, but hopefully in a good way.

I write for fun. I have not written for necessity since college, and I hated every miserable scratch of red ink when my ideas didn’t align with another’s disposition. I don’t want to weave my creations around someone else’s dogma. My plot is simple and my characters are flawed because that is how I perceive the world. People are motivated by basic necessities and desires. I have a story to share, and I will not quit until I am done telling it. Words burn between my ears, longing to be brought into the open.

This is me. I love my genre, I respect art in a myriad of forms, I appreciate my readers, and I am grateful for those who have encouraged me on this massive undertaking. I am passionate about what I do. I urge others to pursue their dreams. This is what breathes meaning into life.
